This injury was caused by a bull hooking the horse with it's horns. This wound had abscessed and was necrotic prior to arrival at Step Ahead Farm. A mix of Metranitrozol and penicillin was utilized to stop the necrosing of the muscle. The wound was flushed with Wound Wash every other day. The dissolving organism was controlled, and the wound healed, but it was much more resistant to routine treatment due to the infecting organism involved. Treatment 3-14-2005 through 3-29-2005 |
